Continuity through change
When Gottfried Haller founded his contract carriage company in Augsburg in 1882, he could not have imagined the times and upheavals that lay ahead. But with the courage to steadily move the company forward, he and his descendants skillfully navigated through all the changes in history. Initially, the business shifted from a pure cab and cab company to a repair business for automobiles of all kinds, but the company experienced an enormous upswing, especially after the Second World War, due to increasing motorization.
In 1954, Gottfried Haller acquired the distribution rights from Magirus and thus became one of the first Magirus dealers in the Swabian region. The premises in Augsburg for the sale and repair of trucks and agricultural machinery were soon bursting at the seams, so that in 1962 the company moved into the new was built in Gersthofen, thus laying another foundation stone for the success of his company. The effort back then paid off. Today, the fifth generation under Andreas Haller leads the family business into the future in a continuous tradition.
As hardly any other sector, the commercial vehicle industry is currently undergoing profound change. In addition to cost efficiency, the sustainability of trucks and buses now plays a decisive role. In response to this development, Andreas Haller founded Quantron AG in 2019 – a company that has since focused entirely on the production of commercial vehicles with alternative drive systems.
Another milestone in the family business’s portfolio followed in 2022: Haller Technology GmbH was established under the umbrella of the Haller Group. The company develops bespoke battery solutions, procures components for e-mobility applications, and offers energy storage systems for residential and industrial buildings as well as batteries for large-scale storage and PV solutions.
In April 2025, the Haller Group acquired the assets of Quantron AG and continues to operate them within the group. With its range of new battery-electric and hydrogen-electric commercial vehicles, QUANTRON® forms a key pillar in the Haller Group’s zero-emission ecosystem. The acquisition of pepper®, a specialist in converting existing fleets, completes the group’s comprehensive zero-emission commercial vehicle offering.
